One thousand two hundred thirty-four

## Numbers, written out the way you say them

Type a figure and this **number to words converter** spells it in plain English, grouping it into thousands, millions, and billions the way you would read it aloud, so 1234 becomes one thousand two hundred thirty-four. It handles zero, negative numbers, and very large values, and it skips the word "and" so the result reads cleanly on a check or a contract. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded.

## Keep the wording you just generated

The amount you spelled out for an invoice or a form is the kind of text you copy once and reach for again later. **Relic** is an encrypted, permanent memory for everything you copy, so that phrase, that figure, and that one line stay searchable on every device, forever, end-to-end encrypted so only you can read them. The converter is free. Never retyping the same words is the upgrade.

## Frequently asked questions

How do I spell out a number in words?+

Type a whole number and it's written out in plain English instantly, grouped into thousands, millions, and billions the way you'd read it aloud, so 1234 becomes "One thousand two hundred thirty-four." The result is sentence-cased and ready to copy in one click.

How large a number can it spell?+

It names groups up to the quadrillions. Numbers larger than that scale, or anything with a decimal point or comma, are turned away with a note asking for a whole number, since it only spells out integers.

Does it handle zero and negative numbers?+

Yes. Zero comes out as "zero," and a leading minus sign gives you "negative" in front of the words. It also quietly drops leading zeros, so 007 reads as "seven."

Why does it leave out the word "and"?+

It deliberately skips "and" (writing "one hundred five" rather than "one hundred and five") because that's the convention on checks and contracts in American English, where "and" is reserved for the decimal point. The output is meant to read cleanly on a legal line.

What's this useful for?+

Writing the amount line on a check, spelling a figure out on a contract or invoice, or teaching how numbers are read aloud. Everything runs in your browser, so the amounts you type are never uploaded.

You just copied that. What if you never lost it?

**Relic** remembers everything you copy, forever, searchable on every device, and end-to-end encrypted so only you can read it.
