Favicon Generator

Make a favicon from a letter or emoji with your own colors, then download the PNG. All in your browser.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded.

32px
16px
Exports a 64x64 PNG. Browsers happily use a PNG as a favicon.

A clean favicon in about ten seconds

Type a letter or drop in an emoji, choose a background and text color, and decide whether you want rounded corners. The preview updates live at the three sizes that actually matter, 64, 32, and 16 pixels, so you can tell whether your initial still reads when it shrinks into a browser tab. When it looks right, download the PNG and point your site at it. The whole thing renders on a canvas in your browser, so nothing you design is uploaded anywhere.

For the brand bits you reuse on every project

The exact accent hex, the favicon you made last time, the snippet of head markup that wires it up. You copy them once and then go hunting for them again on the next site. Relic is an encrypted, permanent memory for everything you copy, searchable on every device and end-to-end encrypted so only you can read it. Generate the favicon here for free, and keep the colors and markup that go with it for good.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a favicon?

Type a letter or drop in an emoji, choose a background and text color, and pick whether you want rounded corners. The preview updates live at 64, 32, and 16 pixels, and when it looks right you download the PNG and point your site at it.

Is my favicon uploaded anywhere?

No. The favicon is drawn on a canvas right in your browser and the download is generated locally, so nothing you design is sent to a server.

What size and format is the favicon?

It exports a 64x64 PNG. Modern browsers happily use a PNG as a favicon, and the live previews at 32 and 16 pixels let you check that your initial still reads once it shrinks into a browser tab.

How do I add the favicon to my website?

Save the PNG into your site, then link it in the page head, for example <link rel="icon" href="/favicon.png">. Most frameworks also let you drop it in a public or static folder and pick it up automatically.

Can I use an emoji as my favicon?

Yes. Type or paste an emoji into the text field instead of a letter and it is rendered onto the icon. Keep it to one or two characters so it stays legible at 16 pixels.
