Where is my text saved?
In your browser's local storage, on your device. It survives closing the tab and restarting the computer, but it stays on that browser: clearing site data or switching devices means it is gone.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the page and type. There is no sign-up, no server copy, and nothing to configure.
Can I recover notes after clearing my browser data?
No, local storage is wiped with site data and we hold no copy, which is the privacy trade-off of a purely local notepad. If you want notes that survive anything and follow you across devices, encrypted, that is exactly what Relic does.
Is an online notepad private?
This one is, because nothing you type is transmitted. Notepads that sync to a server without end-to-end encryption can read your notes, so check before pasting anything sensitive elsewhere.
