How do I find and replace text online?
Type what you want to find, type what to replace it with, then paste your text below. Every occurrence is swapped at once and the result updates live, ready to copy. Leave the replace box empty to simply delete every match.
Does it replace every match or just the first one?
Every match, throughout the whole text, in one pass. There is no need to click through occurrences one at a time the way a word processor makes you.
Can I match by case or use a regular expression?
Yes to both. Turn on Match case to only replace matches with the exact same capitalization, and turn on Regex to treat your find text as a regular expression, which unlocks patterns, groups, and wildcards. If a regex is invalid, the tool shows the error rather than mangling your text.
How do I do a case-sensitive find and replace?
Switch on the Match case toggle. With it off, the search ignores capitalization, so "cat" also matches "Cat" and "CAT". With it on, only exact-case matches are replaced.
Is my text sent to a server to do the replacement?
No. The find and replace runs entirely in your browser, so your text, your search terms, and the result never leave your device.
