How to drag one out
Press the mouse down anywhere on a row, hold, and drag it out of the Relic window into another app. Let go over the place you want it. The window stays open while you drag, so you can drop and come back for the next one.
Dragging does not disturb anything else. Clicking, double-clicking and Ctrl + Click all still do what they normally do, because they happen when you let the button go without moving.
It works the other way round too: drop files onto the Relic window and they are saved to your Vault.
What lands in the other app
Relic hands the other app whatever suits it best.
- A text item drops as text. Into a document, an email, a chat box, a form.
- An image drops both ways. A folder window takes it as a file with a sensible name. Something like a document or a paint program takes the picture itself and puts it in the page.
- A file drops as the file, keeping its original name.
Pictures and files that live in your vault but are not on this computer yet are fetched as you drag. The drop can take a moment while that happens.
What cannot be dragged
- Secrets.A row Relic has marked as a secret, like an API key or a card number, is not a drag source. Copy it with the row's copy button instead.
- Phones and tablets. Dragging out is a Windows, Mac and Linux thing. On a phone, use Share from the row menu.
