Reminders

Turning it on

Reminders are off until you switch them on. Open Settings›General and find Power features.

With Settings › General › Clip reminders off there is no Remind me… in the menu, so if you cannot find it, this is why.

Setting a reminder

1. Turn on Clip reminders

   Open Settings, go to General, and switch on Clip reminders under Power features. It is off until you ask for it.

   Set a reminder on any item and get a nudge later.

   Settings › General › Power features › Clip reminders: toggle, default off.
2. Right-click the item

   In the Relic window, right-click the row you want to be reminded about, or click its three-dot button. The menu now has a Remind me entry.

3. Pick a day and a time

   Choose a day on the calendar, then set the hour and minutes with the arrows beside them and pick AM or PM. Minutes move in fives.

4. Press Set

   Relic confirms with a toast saying how far away the reminder is. Nothing is scheduled until you press Set.

What is in the dialog

The dialog is titled Remind me, with the item's title on one line underneath so you know what you are scheduling. Below that:

• A month calendar. Today is the earliest day you can pick and a year from today is the latest.
• The time. An hour and a minute box, each with an arrow above and below it. Minutes step by five and both wrap around. AM and PM sit beside them. It opens at an hour from now, rounded up.
• SCHEDULED. Reminders already set on this item, each with an × to clear it. The heading only appears when there is something to list, and an item can carry more than one.
• The footer. On the left, the time you have chosen, written out as Today 6:00 PM, Tomorrow 9:00 AM, or a date like Jul 20, 6:00 PM. Pick a time that has already gone and it reads Pick a future time instead, with Set greyed out. Then Close and Set.

What you see when it is due

Relic sends a normal notification from your computer, whether the window is open, hidden, or only in the tray. The title of the notification is the word Reminder and the body is the item, with a button that puts it on your clipboard:

Press Copy it and Relic copies the item and brings the window up, so you can paste it wherever you were going.

When more than three come due together they are rolled into one, so a backlog does not bury your desktop:

A reminder on an item you have since deleted is dropped quietly. Reminders live on the computer that set them, so set one where you want to be nudged. Your Vault itself syncs everywhere as usual.
