About is the last pane in Settings. It says which build you are running, keeps you up to date, and gives you the two things support will ask for. It is the page to open before you write in about a problem.
Version and the lines under it
At the top is the Relic mark, the name, and the line Never lose anything you've ever copied.Under that are four short rows. None of them are settings. They are there so you can read a fact off the screen instead of taking anyone's word for it.

The second row names the lock your items travel under. The third says your search index is an ordinary database file sitting on this computer, which is why search keeps working with the network off. There is more about both in how Relic works.
Updates
Check for updates asks whether there is anything newer. It reads Checking… while it looks, then a line appears under the buttons.
- Update available: 1.0.45
- There is a newer build. An Update now button appears beside the line.
- You're on the latest version.
- Nothing to do.
- Couldn't check for updates.
- Relic could not reach the update file, with the reason after it. An Open download page button appears instead.
Update now does the whole thing for you: it downloads the new build, checks it is the real one, installs it, and Relic closes and comes back on the new version. When the release has notes, they are printed under the line so you can see what changed before you press it.
Open download page is the fallback. Anything Relic cannot install in place sends you to the download page in your browser, and you run the installer yourself. Your vault is untouched by either route.
Logs and diagnostics
Open logsshows the folder with Relic's log file in your file manager. Attach the file to a support email when something crashed or a sync would not go through.
Copy diagnostics puts one short line on your clipboard and the button reads Copied for a moment. It is the version, your operating system version, and the name you gave this computer. Paste it into an email. Nothing from your vault goes anywhere near it.
The links at the bottom
Under the buttons is one paragraph, in the app's own words: Your content is encrypted with a key only you hold. The operator stores ciphertext and minimal metadata and cannot decrypt it.That holds whether you use Relic's servers or your own.
Then five links, each of which opens in your browser.
- Website and Contact support, which starts an email to the support address.
- Privacy policy and Terms.
- Open-source licenses, which stays inside Relic and lists every piece of software it is built on, with the licence text for each.
